The Spirit of Christmas is alive and well. And this year, the Christ the King CYO program renamed is Holiday Classic Basketball tournament to show how the spirit is transcended through ministry and athletics.
The girls 7th grade and 8th grade basketball teams hosted parishes from around the area in one of the best played and most competitive tournaments in years. We want to thank all the parishes, several of which sent two teams, that made the decision to spend their holiday break with us: St. Isadore, St. Agnes, Holy Rosary, St. Catherine’s, St. Simon, St. Joan of Arc and St. Francis.
The program was a success and Christ the King will be making a contribution to the Oakland Diocese CYO Sports Fund in the name of the Spirit of Christmas Tournament. Job well done.
Special thanks to all the volunteers and coaches, as well as the many CTK Crusaders who spent hours at the gym, who made the week-long effort a success: Steve Murphy, Thom Martin, Doug Senz, Vince Cirelli, Joe Dalpiaz, Ray Ramirez, Paolo Braganza, Rob Bruder, Ashleigh Montgomery and Tim Miller.
The season is more than half way done and teams return to the hardwood the weekend of January 7-8. Look for more updates here.
And finally, the Christ the King Crab Feed is just one month away. Check here for an update or contact Vince Cirelli if you need anything at all: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Happy Year Year.
