Philosophy

The purpose of the Christ the King CYO basketball clinics is to keep our parish children active in basketball during the off season and to help improve and develop fundamental skills essential to the sport. WEEKLY SESSIONS TO DEVELOP AND IMPROVE BASKETBALL FUNDAMENTALS

The format for month to month will stay the same. As the summer advances, the program will get progressively more advanced.  For example: July 26 will be ball handling and passing, but will feature more advanced skills including one-one-one and pick & roll drills. There will be a review at the beginning of each to help ensure each player has an understanding of drills taught the previous week.

Clinic Instructors will be certified CYO coaches and parish volunteers who are part of the Christ the King CYO program. Program sessions will cover the following:
– Ball Handling, Passing
– Shooting Drills
– Defensive Technique
– Team/Position Play
